Tapology, one of the nation’s longest-running tap dance festivals, returns to Flint’s Cultural District February 5–8, 2026, for its 24th annual celebration, Matters of the He(A)rt: Rhythm, Reverence, and Revelation. The four-day gathering highlights resilience, creativity, and Flint’s role as a home for world-class talent.
This year’s festival honors Founder Alfred “Bruce” Bradley, whose recent recovery from heart surgery reflects the festival’s theme: both heart and art sustain life. A Flint native and international touring artist, Bradley’s lifelong dedication to teaching and mentorship has shaped generations of tap dancers across the country.

Tune in during the Tapology Festival to this digital broadcast of Apollo Live Wire: A Cultural History of Tap. The event took place at the Apollo Theater in April 2019 and focused on the history of Tap Dancing and its deep cultural roots in African traditions and culture. Led by C.
